I specialize in Child and Adolescent therapy, as well as Individual, Couples, and Family therapy, and I maintain a private practice in Signal Hill, California. I have been in the field of psychology for over 10 years and earned two Masters degrees: one in General Psychology and one in Clinical Psychology. I also hold a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have worked for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health for 4 years focusing in Specialized Foster Care and Crisis/Emergency Outreach.
I am passionate and well versed in working with individuals from highly underrepresented populations where diversity may range from various cultures/ethnicities, identities, and lifestyles. My focus is to assist with personal growth and address concerns such as loss and grief, anxiety, and depression. I take pride in providing an affirming, safe and nurturing environment where individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+, QTPOC, and BIPOC community, feel seen and heard where the focus is on their healing and success.
I am dedicated in my work with children and adolescents, as well as transitional aged youth. This stems from my extensive training and education of over 10 years with this population. I have provided home and school-based treatment to children and adolescents ages 5-18. This includes behavioral-based and play-therapy interventions, while working closely with the teachers and parents of each child.
Exposure to any type of trauma is something that is very difficult to acknowledge and speak about. By providing guidance and support, I can assist you in processing and speaking about trauma in a safe and non-judgmental space. Using a Trauma-Focused lens and Trauma Informed clinical skills, I help you to feel empowered and discover your resiliency.
I primarily provide treatment from a Cognitive Behavioral approach, but I also understand the importance of adjusting treatment when appropriate in order to meet your individual needs. I am also trained in the areas of EMDR, TFCBT, and Mindfulness.
